St.Thomas Minor Baseball
Interviews were conducted on Monday Dec 7th for STMBA's travel team head coaches. Thanks to Diane Wakefield, Paul Stafford, and Chris Wilkins for conducting interviews. Also a thanks goes out to all individuals that applied to head coach a travel team in the program. Your applications show your dedication and committment to development of our youth baseball programs. Listed below are the 2010 Head Coahes.

Coaches who coached in 2009 do not need to get a new Criminal Background Check, but can instead fill out a declaration form and attach it to their application. Coaches who did NOT coach in 2009 MUST have a Criminal Background Check. For those coaches policed by the OPP, the letter MUST be signed by the President. For those with St. Thomas , please take a copy of the letter to the St. Thomas Police Force. Any person wishing to apply to be a head coach of a competitive travel team will need to complete the attached coaches application package. Before an interview will be scheduled, a completed police check or declaration must be returned to STMBA. Please download the attached forms and complete as soon as possible. The completed police check form is to be taken to either the St. Thomas Police or the Ontario Provincial Police depending on where you reside. The travel team head coach application form is to be returned to STMBA at the address provided on the application. For 2010, there is a $10 fee charged by the police for the check to be performed. Completed applications and checks must be submitted by November 20, 2009.

STMBA received a grant of "$22,000 over one year to purchase batting cages with related equipment to increase skill levels and flexibility while reducing injuries among children and youth ages 7-21" from the Trillium group. This batting cage will be located at the Centennial Sports Club Minor Baseball Complex to aid in the development of our younger age group travel and house league players. STMBA will be contributing some funds to the project. STMBA continues to invest in the playing facilities in the city to further develop baseball programs in our communtiy.
STMBA is priveleged to be a part of the many organizations receiving a donation from The Bell Community Sport Fund by announcing officially receiving a $5000 grant to support further investment into the youth baseball program in St. Thomas. Funds received from this tremendous grant have gone into purchasing 6 sets of drop-in bases for 4 fields at the Centennial Sports Club Minor Baseball Complex, 1 set for New York Central, and 1 set for Burwell Road. Also, STMBA has purcahsed a batting cage turtle and protective screens for Emslie Field to allow for safe and easy batting practice. A recognition sign will be affixed to the new support building currently under construction at the Centennial Complex to officailly recognize this wonderful grant. Thanks to the folks at Bell and to Diane Wakefield for putting the grant request together.
A parent or guardian must complete a “Request for Refund” form. Upon acceptance of the request by the Board, there is a 2-4 week processing period. There will be no refunds after May 1st of the current playing season.. No refund will be issued until any equipment, uniforms, or property of St. Thomas Minor Baseball has been returned. There will be a $25 processing fee for all refunds/NSF cheques. No $25 tryout fees will be refunded. Refund forms can be mailed to: St. Thomas Minor Baseball, P.O.
